Dr. Robert Timothy Deakon obtained his medical degree from the University of Ottawa in 1983. He subsequently did a surgical internship at Toronto General Hospital followed by an orthopaedic residency at the University of Ottawa. He did his Fellowship in Arthroscopy and Knee Ligament Reconstructive Surgery and Sports Medicine at the University of Ottawa – Carleton Sports Medicine Clinic under the tuteledge of Dr. Donald H. Johnson. Dr. Deakon is licensed in the province of Ontario and holds specialty certification in Orthopaedic Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He has been in private practice in Oakville, Ontario since 1989. He is the director of the Oakville Sports Injury Clinic and is the team orthopaedic surgeon for the 100th, 105th, 109th and 111th Grey Cup winning Toronto Argonaut Football Clubs. He is a a member of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He holds an associate clinical teaching position at the McMaster University Division of Orthpaedic Surgery. Dr. Deakon’s practice is limited to the treatment of sports related knee injuries and osteoarthritis of the knee.
