Dr. Ahmed has been a Family Physician since 1998 and obtained a Fellowship with the College of Family Physicians in 2016. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Alberta with a dual appointment in the Departments of Family Medicine and Psychiatry. Dr. Ahmed works in a number of clinics in Edmonton. These include a Multi-disciplinary Primary Care clinic and an adult psychiatry clinic. He previously worked in an Inner City Clinic treating patients with addictions and mental health challenges.
He is actively involved in teaching students, allied health care professionals and fellow physicians. He is also involved in program development for physicians at a local, regional and national level.
Dr Ahmed is the current Secretary of the Executive Board of CADDRA (Canadian ADHD Resource Alliance). He was involved in publishing the recent psychosocial guidelines for the treatment of ADHD.
