Dr. Sidra Khan is a Psychiatry with a special interest in addictions, ADHD, cultural psychiatry, psychodynamic therapy, interpersonal therapy, and trauma-based care. She works inter-provincially in two very different practises. Her primary position is at a busy community outpatient psychiatry clinic at the Sheldon M.Chumir Health Centre in Calgary, Alberta supporting a wide range of patients with personality disorder, severe and persistent mental illness, pre-natal care, and co-morbid complex psychiatric care. She also works as an Addictions Psychiatrist in Toronto, Ontario at Michael Garron Hospital providing withdrawal services and management of concurrent disorders in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
Beyond her clinical practise, she holds an Assistant Professor position at Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary as well as a Lecturer position at the Faculty of Medicine at University of Toronto. She dedicates her time extensively to training our next generation of addiction medicine fellows, psychiatry residents, and medical students teaching a broad range of lectures, seminars, and providing individual therapy supervision to junior trainees at University of Calgary and University of Toronto. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, a member of the Canadian Society of Addiction Medicine and awarded member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
