Dr. Deakon obtained his medical degree at the University of Ottawa in 1983. Subsequently did a surgical internship at Toronto General Hospital followed by an orthopaedic residency at the University of Ottawa. He completed a Fellowship in Arthroscopy and Knee Ligament Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Ottawa – Carleton Sports Medicine Clinic under the tuteledge of Dr Donald H Johnson. He holds specialty certification in Orthopaedic Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. In private practice in Oakville, Ontario since 1989 and is an active staff member at Halton Healthcare Services-Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital site.
