Dr. Ko is a Physiatrist and Medical Director, Fibromyalgia clinics at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SBK) and the Canadian Centre for Integrative Medicine (CCIM, Markham). He is an adjunct Lecturer, Dept. Medicine, University of Toronto (8T2 grad) and former Senior University associate professor. He was a panel committee member for the 2012 Fibromyalgia guidelines (Canadian Pain Society), the 2015 Toronto Pan Am games (sports MD) and the 2017 Provincial Lyme Disease and Tick-Borne Illnesses Task Force. At CCIM, he treats chronic pain with a multidisciplinary team incorporating Functional Medicine, Cannabis-based Medicine, IMS acupuncture, biofeedback along with EMG-guided Botulinum Toxin A and Ultrasound-assisted Visco, Regenerative Medicine (PRP) injections. His pioneering work in BTX-A for OA knee and PRP prolotherapy for low back pain was featured on CTV national news. www.DrKoPRP.com. As founding director for the Canadian Society for Neurotoxins in Pain and Past-president for the Canadian Association of Orthopaedic Medicine, Dr. Ko has authored numerous peer reviewed papers and taught several hundred physicians, residents and medical students. His talks often incorporate real life experiences from mission trips (India, Kenya, Belize) with his family physician wife Dr Annie Hum and their 4 children.
