Dr. Benjamin Hoyt has been a community Otolaryngologist in his hometown of Fredericton, NB for the last 16 years. He completed his undergraduate and postgraduate training at Dalhousie University in Halifax, and he is now an Assistant Professor at Dalhousie who regularly hosts medical students and residents for community ENT electives.
Ben has always been very involved in leadership and advocacy roles within our profession. A few of the more significant positions he has held over the years include serving as President of the Canadian Association of Interns and Residents, serving for nearly six years as Chief of Surgery at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, and chairing the New Brunswick Medical Society (NBMS) Health Policy & Promotion Committee. He is currently the Chair of the NBMS Negotiations Committee and the NBMS AFP Advisory Committee.
Ben and his wife Linda love to travel. She is a Psychiatrist and the two of them have sailed several times with Sea Courses.
