Chronic Pain & Addiction
Dr. Bordman graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School in 1985. He has achieved credentials in both Addiction and Pain from international societies. He has lectured on these topics throughout Canada and Internationally. He has mentored many other Canadian health care providers on Addiction and Pain. He has been an expert in court and for the Canadian Medical Protective Association on cases involving Pain, Addiction, and Long-Term Care. He has experience in Emergency Medicine, Palliative Care, Family Practice and Long-Term care, but his main professional interest is in treating Opioid Use Disorder and assessing Chronic Pain treatment in the complex patient. His personal interests include traveling and spending quality time with his grandchildren.
Family Medicine
Dr. Jeffrey Habert is a Family Physician in Thornhill for the last 36 years. He is an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. He is Co-Editor of Canadian Primary Care Today. He is also a member of Diabetes Canada: Dissemination & Implementation Committee. Dr. Habert is the recipient of the 2023 Gerald S Wong Award from Diabetes Canada for significant contributions to Diabetes.
He is one of the co-authors of the 2023 CANMAT MDD Guidelines and the 2024 Consensus recommendations for the management of chronic insomnia in Canada. In addition he is co-author on the recently published Canadian Primary Care Hypertension Guidelines and Canadian Acne Guidelines. Dr. Habert has an interest in the use of clinical practice guidelines, and has participated on committees to establish guidelines in the areas of Depression, Stroke, ASA in Primary Care, Hypertension, Acne and Thrombosis. He is the Previous co-chair of Thrombosis Canada Clinical Guides.
Dr. Habert’s clinical interests are varied, and include Diabetes, Obesity, CV risk, Depression, ADHD, Insomnia, Lipids and Osteoporosis. He is also published in many of the above mentioned areas in addition to others.
Radiation Oncology
Dr. Rakovitch is a radiation oncologist with an active clinical practice and research program focused on breast cancer. The primary goal of her research program is to improve the care and
outcomes of women with an early form of breast cancer called ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS). She attended medical school and completed her residency training in Radiation Oncology at the
University of Toronto. She completed a two year research fellowship at the Center for Radiological Research at Columbia University in New York City and then returned to Toronto to
complete Master’s in Science in Clinical Epidemiology and joined the staff at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre where she remains until today.
She is a Professor and Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Toronto and an Adjunct Senior Scientist at ICES. She is the L.C. Campbell Chair
in Breast Cancer Research at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and is the Program Research Director of the Odette Cancer Program. She is the co-chair of the Canadian Clinical
Trials Group Breast Cancer Executive, which leads and contributes to clinical trials improving the treatment of breast cancer. She is dedicated to improving the management of DCIS and to
teaching students, residents and fellows across the educational spectrum.
