About The Speaker

Dr. Stern is a Family Physician and the Former Chief of Staff at Halton Healthcare Services in Oakville, Ontario. Dr. Stern is the Lead Family Physician of the Argus Medical Centre Family Health Organization. He is  member of Thrombosis Canada and is Co-Medical Director of Sea Courses/CME Away.   Dr. Sol Stern obtained his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Toronto in 1982 after obtaining a BSc and MSc at the same university. He started a family medicine practice in Oakville, Ontario in 1983 and has been practicing in Oakville ever since. Dr. Stern spends about 1/4 of his time involved in CME and has developed and collaborated on many CME workshops including the topics of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and chronic pain management. Dr. Stern has developed, reviewed and presented over 1000 CME programs over the last 25 years.

The aim is to provide evidence-based material, as well as practical and relevant clinical pearls that will be easy to implement into one’s own medical practice. Conference attendees will be invited to complete a pre-course Needs Assessment to assist the faculty with the development of their presentations.

Ice fields, rushing waterfalls, glacial peaks, and towering summits are just a few of the wonders awaiting you in the Canadian Rockies and Glacier National Park. Visit Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the world’s oldest, best preserved buffalo jumps. Ride aboard a Jammer (open-air touring car) during a visit to Glacier National Park. Journey along the unforgettable Icefields Parkway. Stop at Athabasca Glacier and choose to ride across this mass of glacier ice or take a walk on the glass bottom platform at the Glacier Skywalk. Explore Bow Falls and Surprise Corner. Visit the incomparable Chateau Lake Louise. Get ready for an adventure that brings together the expanse of the prairies, the majesty of the Canadian Rockies, and Montana’s Glacier National Park.

Effective immediately and until further notice, all guests will be required to bring one of the following: proof of vaccination (official vaccination certificate in paper or electronic form), proof of recovery from COVID-19 or a negative test result (FDA Approved diagnostic) for a test performed 72-hours or less from the start date of the tour with you on tour to verify information you will be providing to Collette when filling out the Wellness Declaration upon arrival.

Day 1 | Sunday, September 5, 2021 | Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Check into your hotel, the Hyatt Regency, Calgary. Get ready for an adventure that brings together the beautiful expanse of the prairies, the soaring majesty of the Canadian Rockies and the brilliance of Montana’s Glacier National Park. Your tour opens in the province of Alberta. This evening mingle with your fellow travellers during a Welcome Reception. Meals are on your own today.

Day 2 | Monday, September 6, 2021 | Calgary - Waterton Lakes National Park

This morning, journey south to the prairie lands while enjoying the distant views of the spectacular Rockies. Visit Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the world’s oldest, best preserved buffalo jumps. Head-Smashed-In, in the foothills of the Rockies, has been used continuously by Aboriginal people for over 5,500 years. A Blackfoot guide brings to life the culture of the Plains people, the Buffalo Hunt, and the many secrets uncovered in archaeological digs. Continue travelling south to Waterton Lakes National Park. En route, pass through quaint villages and travel along roads sometimes traversed by grizzly bears, black bears, mountain goats, cougars, wolves, moose and elk. You’ll even get to view and photograph the famous Prince of Wales Hotel. Arrive at the Bayshore inn, Waterton lakes in time for a late afternoon CME session. Tonight, enjoy dinner overlooking Waterton Lake. Breakfast and dinner is included today.

Day 3 | Tuesday, September 7, 2021 | Waterton Lakes- Glacier National Park, Montana, USA-Waterton Lakes, AB

Today, experience Glacier National Park, a naturalist's paradise. Glacier preserves over one million acres of forests, Alpine meadows and lakes, and is home to over 70 species of mammals and 270 species of birds. Enjoy a ride aboard one of its famous Jammer cars – built in the 1930s – along one of the most breathtaking roads in North America. Going-to-the-Sun Road stretches across the Continental Divide and offers incredible views of the valley and Glacier National Park. Arrive back at the Bayshore Inn for late afternoon CME session. Breakfast is included today.

Day 4 | Wednesday, September 8, 2021 | Waterton Lakes National Park - Banff

Relax during your journey to Banff and soak in a backdrop of wonderful wildlife and the majestic Canadian Rockies. This afternoon, arrive in Banff and enjoy stops at the powerful Bow Falls and Surprise Corner known for its picture perfect panoramic views. Check into the Banff Inn. Breakfast and Dinner is included today.

Day 5 | Thursday, September 9, 2021 | Banff - Icefields Parkway - Banff

Set out along the unforgettable Icefields Parkway and behold lofty waterfalls, rushing rivers, glacial peaks, imposing cliffs and snow-capped mountain ranges. Stop at the Athabasca Glacier where it’s your choice! Choose a fun ride** across this mass of glacial ice over 1,000 feet thick, the largest accumulation of ice south of the Arctic Circle -OR- take a walk onto a glass bottom platform at the Glacier Skywalk to experience the breathtaking views of the Sunwapta Valley and witness the dramatic landscape. This afternoon, stop at stunning Peyto Lake, a glacier-fed lake that evokes pure serenity. Be on the lookout for bears and stately elk on your return to Banff. Breakfast is included today.

Day 6 | Friday, September 10, 2021 | Banff - Lake Louise - Calgary

After an early breakfast attend your final CME session. Then head out to visit the shores of this famous turquoise blue lake and the incomparable Chateau Lake Louise. Perhaps you will choose to hike along the lakeshore or simply relax in the majesty of your surroundings. Enjoy lunch at the Ski Lake Louise Lodge before boarding the gondola, which ascends the mountain in fourteen minutes to a height of 6,850 feet above sea level. Later, enjoy the views of the prairies while en route to Calgary. Check in to the Hyatt Regency Hotel for a late afternoon CME session. Join your fellow travellers for a farewell dinner celebrating the end of a memorable trip. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner is included today.

Day 7 | Saturday, September 11, 2021 | Calgary

After breakfast partake in the final CME session. Your tour comes to an end today with wonderful memories.
