Dr. Giles is a neurologist who has her own practice in Cambridge, ON. She has a special interest in neuromuscular neurology and multiple sclerosis, and sees both adults and children and is extensively involved in teaching family physicians & colleagues, residents, medical students, patients, and community groups. Her strength is a practical approach to practicing and teaching neurology.
Dr. Kain is the Canada Research Chair in Molecular Physiology. He is a professor of medicine at the University of Toronto and the Science Director of the Tropical Disease Unit. He is also part of the Toronto General Hospital University Health Network and the Director of SA Rotman Laboratories.
This course is designed for family physicians, specialists, and allied health care professionals. The aim is to provide evidence-based material, as well as practical and relevant clinical pearls that will be easy to implement into one’s own medical practice. Conference attendees will be invited to complete a pre-course Needs Assessment to assist the faculty with the development of their presentations.

Mt Fuji (Shimizu), Japan ● On clear days, particularly in winter, Mount Fuji (Fuji-san in Japanese) is visible from as far as Tokyo, 60 miles away. When Japan's highest mountain is capped with snow, it's a picture-postcard perfect volcanic cone. One of the best-known symbols of Japan, this iconic mountain has been considered sacred since ancient times and was even forbidden to women until the early 1900s.
