About The Speaker

Dr. Barbeau is a full-scope family physician with a special interest in Mental Health and Addictions. She attended the University of Western Ontario for her B.A., McGill University for her Masters of Science (Applied) and McMaster University for her Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Barbeau completed her residency at the Northern Ontario Family Medicine (NOFM) residency program. She is currently the Lead Physician at the Superior Family Health Team, an Addiction Medicine Physician at the RAAM (Rapid Access Addiction Medicine) Clinic as well as being Head of Service for Addiction Medicine at the Sault Area Hospital. As well, she is the Medical Director for the Sexual Assault and Care Clinic (SACC). Dr. Barbeau is a life-long learner and enjoys teaching medical students and residents as an Assistant Professor at NOSM (Northern Ontario School of Medicine). She is a speaker and involved in research in Addiction Medicine. She is excited to share her learning to date and learn from others as well!

Dr. Ted Jablonski is an award-winning teaching family physician based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In addition to family medicine, he is the provincial lead for trans health specialist link/e-referral, lead medical consultant to Skipping Stone Foundation and cancer survivor OASIS sexual health program. He is medical director of Jablonski Health doing consultant work in sexual and transgender medicine for Southern Alberta for over two decades. Ted is a sought-after speaker, trainer, media spokesperson and educator with many conference, radio, television and video credits. He is consistently amongst the highest rated speakers at the annual CFP Family Medical Forum.

 

Ted successfully ran, cycled and spoke across Canada in 2010 to raise awareness of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and the stigma of mental illness. “Dr j” continues to moonlight as a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter with 10 indie CD releases, is an award-winning medical blog writer for The Medical Post, published author and passionate emerging playwright.
