Dr. Hauptman is a family physician working in St. Albert, Alberta. He has been working for over 30 years as a physician. His practice interests include respiratory medicine, spirometry, complex patient care, migraines and geriatrics. Dr. Hauptman formerly worked for 10 years as a pain consultant prior to returning back to family medicine in 2019. He currently works as a solo practitioner in a busy family practice.
Dr. Hauptman is a nationally recognized medical educator who has given over 1500 presentations to health care providers on a variety of medical topics including asthma, COPD, migraines, IBS and chronic pain. He has also developed many CME programs for family physicians. Currently Dr. Hauptman holds the appointment of Assistant Clinical Professor with the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Alberta.
In addition, Dr. Hauptman is one of the founding members of the Family Physician Airways Group of Canada, the Pain Society of Alberta and the Chronic Pain Section of the Alberta Medical Association.

Alan Kaplan is a family physician practicing in Aurora Ontario with a special interest in Respiratory issues, vaccination, cancer screening and chronic pain. He is the chairperson of the Family Physician Airways Group of Canada, an Honorary Professor of Respiratory Medicine Research of the Observational and Pragmatic Research Institute, a Vice-President of the Respiratory Effectiveness group and the Co-Chair of the Health Quality Ontario COPD community standards. He is a board member of Thrombosis Canada. He is the medical director of the Central LHIN Pulmonary Rehabilitation clinics.
He is a certificant in Continuing medical education and has had the pleasure of lecturing locally, provincially, nationally and globally. He is the author of 119 newsletter articles, 168 peer reviewed articles and 132 conference abstracts. His work experience includes Family Medicine, Emergency medicine, Hospitalist work, Palliative care and Stroke medicine. He is an international editor for the Journal of Pulmonary Therapy.
He is married with four children and four dogs.
