RESPIRATORY MEDICINE FOR THE PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN: GETTING CONFIDENT WITH YOUR PATIENT'S LUNGS

Dr. Robert Hauptman and Dr. Alan Kaplan have developed an interactive educational program that will be of interest to family physicians, specialists, and allied health professionals. Dr. Hauptman is a family physician working in St. Albert, Alberta. He has been working for over 30 years as a physician. His practice interests include respiratory medicine, spirometry, complex patient care, migraines, and geriatrics. Robert is one of the founding members of the Family Physician Airways Group of Canada, the Pain Society of Alberta, and the Chronic Pain Section of the Alberta Medical Association. Dr. Hauptman’s Topics will include COPD, Asthma, Pulmonary Function Testing and Chronic Cough. Dr. Alan Kaplan is a Family Physician practicing in Aurora, Ontario, Canada. He is the Chairperson of the Family Physician Airways Group of Canada. Alan is involved in multiple respiratory initiatives both locally and internationally as a Senate member of the International Primary Care Respiratory Group, a Member of the Health Canada Section on Allergy and Respiratory Therapies. He has authored 219 newsletter articles, 166 peer reviewed articles, and 130 conference abstracts.
