Dr Berdine Anderson, MBChB, CCFP, MSCP is an international medical graduate who obtained her medical degree  from the University of Pretoria in South Africa in 2012.  She developed her passion for women’s health over the past 10 years and obtained her Menopause Certification in 2022. She has done talks for both Bayer and Astellas. She works as a Physician Extender in Psychiatry at Camrose Addictions and Mental Health, Alberta and runs a Menopause Management Clinic out of the Smith Clinic in Camrose, Alberta. She is involved in student and resident teaching on women’s health and mental health. Outside of medicine she enjoys hiking in the mountains and reading fantasy novels.

Dr Louis Minders (MBChB, CCFP) is a rural Hospitalist, MAID provider, Medical Leader and teacher in Camrose, Alberta. He graduated from the University of Pretoria in South Africa in 2012 before relocating to Canada in 2016. The Hospitalist program in Camrose offers medical, stroke, palliative and surgical comanaged care services. From 2018 he started providing MAID services covering a large area of the health region and is regarded as a high-volume provider. He has had the opportunity to teach medical and non-medical learners in the classroom and bedside setting and also participates in the training of family medicine residents. This involvement has earned him Teaching Excellence awards from the University of Alberta. Through his provincial leadership position he has remained a passionate advocate for rural healthcare.

 

Dr Minders has provided family medicine oversight for the provincial Heart Failure and COPD optimization pathways, Staphylococcus Aureus Bacteremia programs and other practice changing work. In his spare time he loves to run, exercise and lose himself in fantasy novels.

Day 1       Tarragona, Spain

A unique blend of Spanish and Roman history, Tarragona is a seaside treasure on Spain’s Northeast coast just waiting to be discovered. Dating back to the 5th century BC, it’s the oldest Roman settlement on the Iberian Peninsula, and the city’s ruins are designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.    

Day 2       At Sea

Spend the day sailing in style aboard your boutique hotel at sea. Today we will have All Day CME sessions. In the evening, savor inspired Italian cuisine at Aqualina, or relish in a classic steakhouse experience at Prime C. Plus, you’ll find plenty of exciting evening entertainment, from thrilling shows at Cabaret Lounge to intimate performances in the Living Room.  

Day 3  Florence/Pisa(Livorno), Italy

As the birthplace of the Renaissance, Florence and its historic center is bursting with elegant squares, imposing palaces, magnificent churches, incredible art galleries and museums with an abundance of riches.  

Day 4 Rome(Civitavecchia), Italy

Whether it’s tossing a coin in a fabled fountain or being awestruck by the magnificence of St. Peter’s Basilica and Michelangelo’s masterpieces, Rome seems to live up to its sobriquet, the Eternal City.  

Day 5  Sorrento, Italy

A warming sun and gentle sea breezes have been attracting visitors to Sorrento for two millennia, and its reputation as a playground of the ancient rich and famous have resulted in lavish villas and palaces.  

Day 6 Catania, Sicily, Italy

Mountainous and rugged, Sicily’s highest point is the tip of that infamous and still active Mt. Etna, and as a result Catania is richly layered, having been buried under lava seven times in recorded history.  

Day 7 Crotone, Italy

Bathed in the golden Mediterranean sun and caressed by gentle sea breezes, Crotone, Italy, beckons visitors with its ancient allure. Delve into the local culture by visiting the Archaeological Park of Capo Colonna, home to the iconic Temple of Hera Lacinia.  

Day 8 Kotor, Montenegro

One of Europe’s best-preserved cities of medieval or Renaissance vintage, Kotor’s walls were constructed right into the slopes of the mountain behind it, making it an amazing sight on approach from the sea.  

Day 9 Dubrovnik, Croatia

To visit Dubrovnik is to step back in time to the Middle Ages, as the town is one massive museum of fountains, palaces and churches, with thick walls that date back to the 13th century and encircle the city.  

Day 10 Zadar, Croatia

Day 11 Venice (Fusina), Italy
