Dr. Robert Banks
Specialty:
Multi-Disciplinary Medical Doctor
About The Speaker
After two flying tours as a Canadian military pilot, Dr. Robert (Bob) Banks received his Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of Toronto in 1986. Following his internship and four years practicing as a flight surgeon and ER physician, Bob completed the United States Navy Residency of Aerospace Medicine. While a resident, he conducted human-subject research that identified an unknown physiological mechanism that caused loss of consciousness of pilots in flight.
Dr. Banks’ professional activities over many years were focused on human flight, and medical and engineering forensic investigations of trauma. He led an investigation into the cause and mechanism of injuries experienced by the crew of the Space Shuttle Columbia when it crashed in 2003. His publications are found in the journal of the Aerospace Medical Association, aviation and space medicine textbooks, and on the NASA website.
He was recently presented with the William Randolph Lovelace Award by the Society of NASA Flight Surgeons for his career contributions to space and aviation flight safety.

About The Speaker

Spravato (esketamine) is the only FDA-approved nasal spray for treatment resistant depression and is an NMDA receptor antagonist that is believed to work differently by acting on a pathway in the brain that affects glutamate.
He also in on faculty at the Florida Atlantic University Charles E Schmidt College of Medicine and teaches a Foundation of Medicine course to first and second year medical students which teaches students the skills in performing history and physical exam on patients.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 Munich
Arrive at Munich Airport. Where you will be met and transferred to your Munich Hotel.
Accommodation: Hilton Munich (or similar)
Day 2 Munich
After breakfast, we will have CME Sessions in the morning and afternoon. Tonight will be on your own to enjoy a dinner at the hotel or somewhere in the city.
Day 3 Munich—Passau
After breakfast, we will have a morning at leisure and for re-packing, then you will be transferred to the ship. Unpack and enjoy your first evening on board the Enchanting Danube River cruise.
Day 4 Passau
Passau is a crossroads in more ways than one, as three rivers meet here and three nations nearly do, making for a fascinating cultural mosaic. Get to know the town and its main claim to fame—Europe’s largest pipe organ—or “Let’s Go” with an invigorating riverside hike.
Day 5 Linz (Salzburg)
Mozart’s birthplace of Salzburg is nestled in a glorious alpine setting that sparkles like a winter wonderland. Linz may be best known for its famous Linzer torte, but it’s also a hotbed for the arts. See the sights with a local expert and visit a family at their farm in the countryside. Austria’s third-largest city, Linz boasts a long history of trading and textile manufacturing, but these days it is perhaps best known for its electronic arts and annual festival.
Day 6 Melk, Dürnstein
This morning, visit the 900-year-old Melk Abbey and its extraordinary baroque-style library.
Later, you will head to Dürnstein, one of our favorite towns along the Danube, a lovely place to wander cobblestone lanes, browse quaint shops and maybe hike up to a ruined castle (with an intriguing tale all its own). You can also opt for a tasting or learn all about the world’s costliest spice from the Wachau Valley’s only saffron grower. You have two ports of call in the incredibly scenic valley, Dürnstein and Melk, and an assortment of delightful ways to explore this lovely region.
Day 7 Vienna
Vienna is a cultural treasure trove revered for its art and music (and sinfully rich pastries). Experience the “City of Waltzes” with a highlight tour of the city, as well as an expertly led tour of an extraordinary collection of art at the renowned Vienna Art History Museum.
Day 8 Vienna, Bratislava
Your ship sets sail from Vienna and heads for Bratislava today. You may relax onboard all day, perhaps enjoying a drink on the Sun Deck and taking in the scenery as the ship winds its way along the Austrian Danube toward Bratislava. Although it’s not a large city, Bratislava has played a leading role in the politics and culture of the region for many centuries, and it is well worth a visit.
Day 9 Budapest
Budapest is an enchanting city that presents a vibrant mix of medieval and modern.
Day 10 Budapest
Today you will disembark Uniworld S.S. Maria Theresa with amazing photos and memories of your time on the Danube River. If your cruise/tour package includes a group departure transfer or if you have purchased a private departure transfer, you will be transferred to Budapest Ferenc Liszt Airport for your flight home.
Note: The itineraries presented are subject to modification due to water levels, closures because of public holidays or other uncontrollable factors.
