Family Medicine
Dr. Brynlea Barbeau is a Family Physician with a keen interest in Mental Health and Addictions. She is currently the Lead Physician at the Superior Family Health Team. As well, she serves as Medical Director of the Sexual Assault and Care Clinic (SACC) and is a physician at the Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) clinic, both at the Sault Area Hospital (SAH). Dr. Barbeau is currently President of the Medical Staff Association at SAH, previously having served as Secretary and Treasurer. In addition, Dr. Barbeau is an Assistant Professor at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) and a Facilitator at McMaster’s Problem-Based Learning Program (PBLPP. She loves learning, teaching and travelling and so CME Away is the perfect combination. Brynlea hopes to share her knowledge and experience, learn from yours, all while travelling the globe. Endodontics
Dr. Brian Jafine graduated with a Bachelor of Science and received his DDS degree from the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry in Ontario, Canada. He has been a practicing Endodontist for 30 years, and received his post graduate degree in Endodontics from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. Dr. Jafine’s emphasis is on patient comfort, as well as keeping up-to-date with the latest advancement in endodontic techniques, enabling him to provide the best quality of care for his patients. He has a wide range of experience in different areas of endodontics, from root canal treatments to microsurgery. His expertise is also frequently called upon by referring dentists for endodontic retreatment. Dr. Jafine is a member of the Canadian and Ontario Dental Associations, as well as the American Association of Endodontics. He is also a member, and has served as President, of three specialty organization: the Canadian Academy of Endodontics, the Ontario Society of Endodontists and the George Hare Endodontic Study Club. Dr. Jafine’s specialty practice, Partners in Endodontics, strives to utilize the best in current sterilization and endodontic treatment techniques. Specialty equipment in his two office locations includes surgical operating microscopes and digital radiography systems in order to provide the optimum in endodontic care for patients requiring root canal treatment.

This course is designed for family physicians, specialists, and allied health care professionals. The aim is to provide evidence-based material, as well as practical and relevant clinical pearls that will be easy to implement into one’s own medical practice. Conference attendees will be invited to complete a pre-course Needs Assessment to assist the faculty with the development of their presentations.
