Dr. Chris Altmeyer is a retired military regular force flight surgeon and advanced dive medicine (HBOT) qualified CFPC family physician who currently works at Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital in Alberta as an emergency medicine physician. Additional medical interests and areas of current practice include: ring-side combative sports medicine physician, ongoing Medical Officer service to the Canadian Armed Forces, University of Alberta Associate Clinical Professor teaching, ICU extender, and Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) assessor and provider.

About The Speaker
Dr. Jill Trinacty is an endocrinologist based in Ottawa, Ontario, and is board certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM). She practices at LMC Diabetes & Endocrinology and the Bariatric Medical Institute, and serves as a consultant in endocrinology at Bruyère Continuing Care. Her clinical practice focuses on obesity medicine, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, cardiometabolic disease, diabetes technology, and general endocrinology.
Dr. Trinacty is a nationally recognized medical educator and frequent invited speaker at continuing medical education programs across Canada. She has delivered presentations on a wide range of topics including obesity management, diabetes therapeutics, continuous glucose monitoring, cardiovascular risk reduction, lipid management, and emerging therapies in endocrinology. She is passionate about translating rapidly evolving evidence into practical, patient-centred strategies that clinicians can immediately apply in practice.
She currently serves as Vice Chair of the Ontario Medical Association (OMA) Section on Endocrinology and Metabolism, where she advocates for endocrinologists across Ontario and contributes to initiatives focused on physician engagement, health policy, and equitable access to care. She also serves on the OMA Priority and Leadership Group.
Dr. Trinacty is an Editor of Canadian Diabetes & Endocrinology Today and is actively involved in advancing continuing medical education and clinical scholarship. She has led numerous advocacy initiatives to improve equitable access to diabetes medications and technologies, including founding the National Capital Region Endocrinology Coalition, which advocates for improved access to continuous glucose monitoring for Canadians covered under the Public Service Health Care Plan.
Through her clinical practice, education, editorial work, and advocacy, Dr. Trinacty is dedicated to advancing excellence in diabetes and obesity care while improving health outcomes through evidence-based, compassionate, and collaborative care.

Day 1 Tokyo (Yokohama), Japan
There aren't many places on Earth that blend ancient tradition and the ultra modern quite like Tokyo. Centuries-old gardens and cobblestone laneways live in perfect harmony with soaring skyscrapers and dazzling neon lights. Get immersed in an unrivalled dining scene, fashionable boutiques, and endless cultural encounters in this ever-evolving city.
Day 2 At Sea
While at sea, take the time to recharge before the next adventure. Lounge by the pool, be spoiled at the spa, taste the delicacies or explore the venues on-board, until we arrive at the next amazing destination.
Days 3 & 4 Kyoto (Osaka), Japan
Visit Osaka Aquarium, one of the world’s largest aquariums which has over 580 species of sea life on display, or Universal Studios Japan, the company’s first theme park outside of the U.S. Kyoto served as the nation’s capital for more than 1000 years and is home to 17 different World Heritage Sites including Kiyomizudera Temple and Heian Jingu Shrine.
Day 5 Kochi, Japan
The capital of Kochi Prefecture on the southern coast of Shikoku is small, friendly, and boasts several attractions of interest to travelers. Make sure to enjoy some Katsuo no tataki, Kochi's most famous dish, and visit the temple and botanical garden at Mount Godaisan.

Day 7 Busan, South Korea
It is Busan's premier trading port, adjacent to the Korean Straits and Japan, that makes it an international metropolis but its beautiful sea vistas that make it a charming place to unwind. Experience the serenity of Beomeo-sa Temple, climb the Busan Tower in Yongdusan Park and rejuvenate at Hushimchung Spa.
Day 8 Nagasaki, Japan
Historically rich Nagasaki features beautiful seaside scenery and fabulous nighttime views from its mountain slopes. Secluded hot springs, fascinating museums, and ornate temples live side by side in this exciting city. Ten natural parks grace the area, and unique festivals can be experienced throughout the year. Walk through streets influenced by both Chinese and European cultures in fascinating Nagasaki.
Day 9 Kagoshima, Japan
Kagoshima is the southernmost city on Japan's bullet train network and the capital of Kagoshima Prefecture. The city is often compared with its Italian sister city, Naples, due to a similarly mild climate, streets lined with palm trees, and Sakurajima, Kagoshima's version of Vesuvius. Near port, find the fascinating Kagoshima aquarium, traditional Senganen Japanese gardens, museums, the Shiroyama mountain-top park with a view over the city, and Yakushima Island, a registered world heritage site. Plus, an abundance of hot springs, mud baths, and spas to promote serenity and relaxation.

Day 11 Mt. Fuji (Shimizu), Japan
On clear days, particularly in winter, Mount Fuji (Fuji-san in Japanese) is visible from as far as Tokyo, 60 miles away. When Japan's highest mountain is capped with snow, it's a picture-postcard perfect volcanic cone. One of the best-known symbols of Japan, this iconic mountain has been considered sacred since ancient times and was even forbidden to women until the early 1900s.
